New Year’s Eve in Belper: We’re Taking 2026 Out with an 80s Party
The Halloween sweets haven’t even been opened yet, but we’re already thinking about the last party of the year. And this one comes with a very good excuse to revisit your favourite 80s songs.
For New Year’s Eve 2026 in Belper, The Lion Hotel is hosting an 80s party with free entry, live music in the bar and a disco in the Arkwright Suite.
So if your ideal 31st December involves good company, a few drinks and singing along to songs you somehow still know every word to, put us in the diary.
An 80s soundtrack to the end of the year
There are songs you politely nod along to. Then there are the ones that make you turn to your friends and announce, “I LOVE this one.”
That’s the energy we’re bringing to New Year’s Eve.
Our 80s disco in the Arkwright Suite is your chance to get together, have a dance and finish the year with a soundtrack worth getting out of your chair for.
You don’t need to have lived through the decade to enjoy it. And if you did, we’ll leave you to explain to the younger members of your group why the music was better back then.
Live music in the bar, too
Alongside the disco, Darren Morgan will be performing live in the bar.
Whether you love a live performance or are already mentally claiming your spot for the disco, there’s plenty to look forward to. Get your friends together and make an evening of it.
The party starts from 7pm on Thursday 31st December 2026, giving you a whole evening to catch up and celebrate before welcoming 2027.

Food will be served until 9pm, so you can plan a meal before getting into the party spirit.
